This marks the first of six global campaigns<sup>1<\/sup>\u00a0that STB is rolling out in the coming years to sharpen the\u00a0way it tells the\u00a0Singapore story,\u00a0after it\u00a0announced its\u00a0refreshed marketing strategy in\u00a02023.<\/p>\n<p>As a major trade hub with cutting-edge innovation, technology, and research capabilities, Singapore is\u00a0home to a\u00a0vibrant\u00a0business\u00a0ecosystem\u00a0where\u00a0thought\u00a0leaders, investors\u00a0and businesses\u00a0meet.\u00a0It\u00a0also\u00a0offers\u00a0a\u00a0neutral\u00a0ground\u00a0for\u00a0meaningful\u00a0dialogue,\u00a0access\u00a0to\u00a0unique\u00a0tourism\u00a0offerings,\u00a0and\u00a0maintains\u00a0a\u00a0stellar\u00a0track\u00a0record\u00a0of\u00a0hosting\u00a0high-quality events.\u00a0Please\u00a0refer\u00a0to\u00a0Annex\u00a0A\u00a0for\u00a0a\u00a0list\u00a0of\u00a0significant\u00a0events\u00a0already\u00a0secured\u00a0for 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond exceptional capabilities, infrastructure and events, Singapore has set clear targets, standards, certification programmes and incentives, to build a greener future for the MICE industry. However, the evolving landscape underscores the intensifying need for destinations to redefine the experience and support\u00a0they\u00a0provide\u00a0to\u00a0MICE\u00a0planners,\u00a0businesses\u00a0and\u00a0delegates,\u00a0who\u00a0are\u00a0increasingly\u00a0focused\u00a0on\u00a0driving meaningful change.<\/p>\n<p>According\u00a0to\u00a0International\u00a0Congress\u00a0and\u00a0Convention\u00a0Association\u2019s\u00a0(ICCA)\u00a0Meeting\u00a0Needs\u00a0Survey\u00a0(2023)<sup>2<\/sup>, associations\u00a0emphasised\u00a0the\u00a0importance\u00a0of\u00a0leaving\u00a0a\u00a0positive\u00a0impact\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0destination\u00a0of\u00a0their\u00a0events\u00a0and to build legacy<sup>3<\/sup>\u00a0into their activities. For example, 44% of international associations modified their RFPs (Request for Proposals) in the last three years with legacy requirements. The results also highlighted various\u00a0ways\u00a0that\u00a0associations seek\u00a0to\u00a0contribute positively,\u00a0from\u00a0holding\u00a0sustainable\u00a0events to\u00a0engaging market segments for a more inclusive approach.<\/p>\n<p>Yap\u00a0Chin\u00a0Siang,\u00a0Deputy\u00a0Chief\u00a0Executive,\u00a0Singapore\u00a0Tourism\u00a0Board,\u00a0said,\u00a0\u201cPositioning\u00a0Singapore\u00a0as\u00a0the\u00a0World\u2019s Best MICE City\u00a0is integral to our ambition to maintain a competitive edge, and to reinforce Singapore\u2019s\u00a0strengths.\u00a0This\u00a0is especially critical\u00a0as MICE event\u00a0organisers\u00a0and\u00a0delegates seek\u00a0destinations that deliver value and drive positive impact. Examples of business events that have leveraged Singapore\u2019s strengths to address a need or gap in their intended communities, in Singapore and beyond are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SingaporeInternational\u00a0Water\u00a0Week\u00a0(SIWW),\u00a0held\u00a0biennially\u00a0on\u00a0even\u00a0years,\u00a0is\u00a0one\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0world\u2019s premier\u00a0platforms\u00a0that\u00a0gathers\u00a0leaders\u00a0and\u00a0experts\u00a0from\u00a0cities,\u00a0utilities,\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0industry\u00a0to\u00a0share\u00a0best practices\u00a0and co-create innovative\u00a0water,\u00a0flood\u00a0management\u00a0and coastal\u00a0protection\u00a0solutions\u00a0to tackle pressing urban water and associated climate challenges. It galvanises climate action, particularly in Asia, by fostering new partnerships and collaboration amongst municipal and industrial stakeholders to build a sustainable water future for all.<\/li>\n<li>RehabWeek 2023 (24 \u2013 28 September 2023)\u00a0saw delegates from around the world convene to exchange best practices and advance the frontiers of rehabilitation. The congress also featured environmentally friendly booth-building schemes and piloted a zero-waste booth, which has a 45% lower carbon footprint than traditional booths. To celebrate innovative ideas and solutions, the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) \u2013 Fresenius Kabi Innovation Awards were presented to three winners, with special recognition to those that helped reduce the environmental impact of Ryan Yuen, Managing Director, Singapore International Water Week Pte Ltd said, \u201cBeing able to easily connect with internationally renowned partners on our homeground is a key driving force behind Singapore\u2019s continued success and influence in the global water industry. With each event, we have reached wider audiences, enhanced our event format, and facilitated business opportunities \u2013 all of which have brought the global community closer to achieving a more sustainable water future.
