The 11th edition of WTM (World Travel Market) Latin America, themed “The Future is Open. Be the Change,” is set to attract over 27,000 travel professionals from April 15 to 17 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo. This year’s event boasts a 20% increase in usable exhibition space, now covering 7,200 square meters, thanks to efficient layout revisions by Expo Center Norte, including relocating restrooms to enhance stand and aisle spacing.
Key features of the event include the Agent on the Road and Hosted Buyers programs, bringing together 500 air and road travel agents from across Brazil, and 75 hosted buyers from globally diverse locations such as South America, Europe, and North America, as well as representatives from countries like South Africa, Germany, Argentina, and many more.
This edition introduces the Diversity Route, focusing on Afrotourism, LGBTQIA+ Tourism, and 60+ Tourism, aiming to foster innovation and recognize impactful projects. Twenty-seven organizations will receive a special recognition seal under this initiative.
Noteworthy participants making their debut include Africando with their African safari offerings, Atrio Hotel Management as Brazil’s largest nationally-owned hotel management company, and several international agencies and tourism boards, including those from Belize and Jordan. The event will also see the participation of new exhibitors like Joinville and the launch of significant cooperative campaigns.
WTM Latin America continues to be a critical platform for industry professionals to reflect on creating a more sustainable and healthier industry, with seasoned participants like Argentina and Chile showcasing strong presences despite economic challenges.
Cruise Lines, Operators, and Travel Insurance Updates
Norwegian Aqua is ushering in a new age of cruise travel, highlighted by groundbreaking features like the world’s first water roller coaster, the Aqua Slidecoaster. At WTM Latin America, the company is showcasing the Glow Court, an innovative digital sports complex that includes an interactive LED floor, which doubles as a nightclub in the evenings.
Oceania Cruises is introducing its Vista ship for the inaugural “Around the World in 180 Days” voyage set for 2026. The company has been a leader in offering immersive, global destination voyages for over a decade.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises is launching a series of six Immersive Overnights voyages, each featuring overnight stays in ports to allow guests more in-depth exploration of popular destinations.
Schultz, a leading Brazilian tourism firm, is presenting its cruise offerings at WTM Latin America 2024. This includes a new partnership with Skorpios Cruises and updates on its Europamundo river cruises and exclusive promotions for EcoBoo Maldives.
